Social media

A manageable social media system for a small team

Choose channels deliberately, answer real questions, and make publishing sustainable.

A useful social presence is one the business can keep current and use to help customers. The goal is not to post everywhere. It is to make selected channels accurate, helpful, and connected to a working next step.

Choose a channel by audience and capacity

Start with where customers already ask questions or look for examples of this work. Consider the format the business can produce: short explanations, photos, demonstrations, event notes, or longer professional posts. Choose a small number of channels rather than stretching the same team across every platform.

Complete the profile before setting a posting cadence. Use a current description, real contact path, accurate service area, and links that reach the relevant page. Recheck the profile after changes to the business.

Use a simple content mix

Build prompts from customer questions, process explanations, common decisions, service boundaries, useful reminders, and updates that are genuinely current. A content plan is a starting point; review every draft for accuracy, privacy, and tone before publishing.

Give each post one job. A useful explanation may build understanding without asking for an immediate sale. An offer post should state who it fits and what to do next. Avoid pretending a hypothetical example is a real customer result.

Keep responses and access organized

Assign someone to review comments and messages, and set a response rhythm the team can meet. Prepare a short guide for routing sensitive, urgent, or out-of-scope questions. Never ask people to post private information in public comments.

Use role-based access when a platform supports it, protect recovery methods, and remove access when responsibilities change. Review channel activity alongside real inquiry fit rather than using follower counts as a proxy for business outcomes.

A short working checklist

  • Keep profile information current.
  • Choose a cadence that matches team capacity.
  • Mix useful explanations with relevant offers.
  • Assign message review and account access responsibilities.
